In the coming months of 2011, bolt securing specialist Nord-Lock is introducing a laser marking on each washer pair, which will include the Nord-Lock brand, the control number and a type code. The company suggests that this new feature will offer added value for the users since it improves traceability and control.
Nord-Lock says that its customers have the most demanding applications and require maximum control. With laser marked Nord-Lock products, customers can ensure full traceability down to first assembly even when using bin-systems for fasteners and avoid counterfeit components.
It should be pointed out, however, that the marking does not last during reuse; after tightening and untightening it will in most cases be unreadable. Nord-Lock is therefore encouraging users to take note of control numbers prior to first assembly. Using the type code marking, the user can …
