Dates for Fastener Fair Thailand 2013 announced.

Over 3000 fastener and fixing professionals attended Thailand’s and South East Asia’s first event dedicated to the fastener and fixing industry held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 6-8 September.

The event was formally opened by the chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries – Khun Payungsak Chartsutipol, the President of the Thai Auto-parts Manufacturers Association – Khun Achana Limpaitoon and the acting president of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau – Khun Thongchai Sridama.

The opening ceremony also preceded a series of high level seminars which supplemented the exhibition and included vital topics for the fastener industry including sessions from The Engineering Institute of Thailand, The Federation of Thai Industries and the State Railway of Thailand.

Approximately a third of the exhibitors were from the Thai and ASEAN (Association of South East Asia Nations) region with also a strong representation from Taiwan and China. Over 130 exhibitors were represented from 11 different countries displaying products and services ranging from fastener manufacturing machines and inspection equipment to precision fasteners and bespoke anchoring solutions.

A total of 2418 professionals visited the show from 47 different countries across the world. 63% of the visitors were from Thailand alone and 70% came from the ASEAN region. When the 588 exhibitor personnel were added to the visitor figure the total attendance for the event over the 3 days reached 3006.

More than 3 quarters of the visitors represented the fastener and fixing trade with 22% of the visitors representing Thailand’s vast manufacturing and assembly, end user sectors. The visitors also reflected the regions strength in the auto (22%), electronics (13%) and construction (18%) markets. The quality of the visitors also highlighted the importance of the event which saw that 67% of visitors were of manager level or above. The remainder of the visitors were technical engineers or specifiers from end user organisations.

Exhibition Director Michael Wilton commented “We were pleased with the level of business activity we witnessed over the 3 days of the show. The hall was busy and with suppliers, manufacturers and end users for fasteners using the event to strengthen their respective business. With the backdrop of encouraging feedback from both the exhibitors and visitors at Fastener Fair Thailand, plans are already afoot for the second edition of the show in 2013”

Fastener Fair Thailand 2013 will be held at the Bangkok Trade and Exhibition Centre in the fourth quarter of 2013. Further details will be available shortly on the shows website www.fastenerfair-thailand.com .
