CHICAGO, Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — MW Industries, a leading provider of highly engineered springs, specialty fasteners, machined parts, and other precision components, announced today the acquisition of Futuristics Components, a manufacturer of precision turned components for the microwave, electronics, defense, aerospace and related industries.
Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Waterbury, CT, Futuristics’ products include fasteners, washers, timing devices, switches, and fittings. Its expertise is in miniature machined products requiring precision and extremely tight tolerances. The company will be integrated into MW’s RAF Electronic Hardware Division, located in nearby Seymour, CT.
Bill Marcum, CEO of MW Industries, said, “Futuristics has built a solid reputation over the past 25+ years as a niche manufacturer of precision machined components serving a number of key industries. The company’s products and work force are highly complementary to our existing facilities, and as part of the MW family of companies, we believe that Futuristics is better positioned to penetrate new markets, including the medical, electronics, communications, aerospace and avionics sectors.”
MW has completed a number of acquisitions to strengthen its product offerings and customer base and is currently evaluating a strong pipeline of transactions.
