The high court heard the case B&B Hardware, INC. v. Hargis Industries INC.

(TRNS) – After 18 years of back and forth, two companies went to the Supreme Court to present their arguments during B&B Hardware, INC. v. Hargis Industries INC. Tuesday.
In 1993, B&B registered a trademark for its product “Sealtight,” a fastener for the aerospace industry. Three years later, Hargis attempted to register a trademark for its product “Sealtite,” which works as a fastener for the building and construction industry. Hargis’s petition was refused, but one year later the company petitioned for the cancellation of B&B’s trademark, wrongly believing that B&B had abandoned its mark.(…)
