VIVIAN, La. (AP) — A Caddo Parish rivet-making plant is closing, meaning 40 workers could be laid off
KSLA-TV (http://bit.ly/2cah6b3 ) reports that the Gesipa plant in Vivian will close by Dec. 15, with production consolidating with another plant in Mocksville, North Carolina.Mayor Michael Van Schoick says workers are being offered transfers to North Carolina, but many don’t want to go.
A unit of Swiss-based SFS Intec, Gesipa says it’s consolidating the plant for economic reasons. (…)
