To celebrate Arbor Day, Earth Day and World Environment Day employees of Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) Simi Valley have joined with thousands of their colleagues worldwide embarking on environmental service projects during “Green Works” from April 21st through June 21st.

AFS Simi employees hosted Simi Valley Trail Blazers partnering with Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District along with local Geocachers to clean up the Hummingbird Trail Creek area at the north end of Kuehner Drive. 35 volunteers armed with paint cans, rollers, trash bags and a strong desire to protect the environment painted out a substantial amount of graffiti in two areas by the large rock outcrop and the waterfall area at Hummingbird Creek. Over 275 pounds of trash was removed and recycled before this project was done. (…)
