FENTON, Michigan — Ed Oldaugh is reinventing himself — and so is his employer.Oldaugh, 41, of Genesee found himself out of work when his employer of almost 20 years, Acument Global Technologies in Fenton, closed in 2009 because of the poor economic climate.He spent the following year and some months unemployed, then was hired at another Acument location.But now Oldaugh is back at the reopened Acument plant in Fenton.“It was very humbling to have it all and lose everything and then get back in,” said Oldaugh, who is now processing and shipping parts instead of making them.Acument itself refocused, announcing in December it would reopen its former manufacturing plant on Owen Road after the company received a $874,651 tax incentive from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.The Sterling Heights-based Acument, which produces mechanical fastening products and services for transportation markets, plans to invest $5.1 million to expand its facilities in Fenton, Grand Blanc Township and Sterling Heights and retain its headquarters in …
