Fastener Fair Turkey 2013, the Exhibition for Fastener and Fixing Technologies, will take place at IFM – Istanbul Expo Centre in Istanbul from 21 – 22 November 2013. As Turkey’s only exhibition dedicated exclusively to the fastener and fixing industry, Fastener Fair Turkey will provide a variety of buying and networking opportunities for local, as well as international distributors, suppliers, buyers, engineers and industry professionals.

Fastener Fair Turkey covers a comprehensive range of fastening products and services and is aimed at companies which are actively involved in the Fastener and Fixing industry, producing, distributing or purchasing industrial fasteners, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems, fastener manufacturing technology, storage, distribution and factory equipment.

Fastener Fair Turkey is part of the successful Fastener Fair series of events organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions, including the flagship event Fastener Fair Stuttgart, Europe’s leading international trade fair for this industry. The Fastener Fair brand is well established as the leading business event for the fastener and fixing industry in Europe and in key growth markets around the world.

Good balance between Turkish and international exhibitors
The first Fastener Fair Turkey has a good balance between Turkish and foreign exhibiting companies. Of the 134 exhibitors confirmed at Fastener Fair Turkey 2013, half are foreign companies representing fifteen countries. “We are delighted with the international response to the first Fastener Fair Turkey,” says Exhibition Director Olivia Griscelli on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Fuarcılık. “Leading fastener suppliers and manufacturing technology specialists from Germany, Italy and France will be joined by exhibitors from North America as well as Taiwan, China and India. This level of international support for the first Fastener Fair in Istanbul demonstrates clearly both the geographic and economic significance of Turkey.”

The other half of exhibitors at Fastener Fair Turkey 2013, are Turkish fastener manufacturers and suppliers, including the country’s largest manufacturers and many members of the BESIAD fastener suppliers’ association. Olivia Griscelli comments “This makes Fastener Fair Turkey 2013 an excellent opportunity for purchasers and management from the Turkish fastener industry and its markets to meet and network as well as providing a highly accessible event for fastener buyers from across Europe and the Middle East”.

International interest in Turkey’s fastener market is not surprising given the country’s strategic location between Asia and Europe and its proximity to so many major markets. Turkey represents a major growth market in an already vibrant fastener and fixings sector. It is currently forecast to become the second fastest growing economy in the world by 2018 with manufactured goods expected to account for more than 90% of exports.

The automotive sector in Turkey represents a major source of demand for fasteners. Turkey ranks 8th in Europe for the production of passenger cars but is first for both commercial vehicles and buses. Turkey also expects major growth from its rail sector, having started a major program of investment in high speed rail links. Overall Turkey is committed to continued increases in budget allocation for rail development with some USD 25 billion earmarked for Turkish Railways over the next decade. For Turkish fastener companies, these sectors together with major developments in other areas including power generation and distribution, marine engineering, and residential construction continue to present major growth opportunities.
