Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced that Fastener Fair China 2013 will take place at Suzhou International Expo Centre from 14-16 May 2013. It will take place co-located with BLECH China, an international sheet metal technology event.
Fastener Fair China joins Fastener Fair India and Fastener Fair Russia as the dedicated fastener events for key growth markets outside Europe in the first half of 2013.
Fastener Fair China 2013 provides an ideal platform for both local and international distributors and manufacturers to establish successful business relations, both with customers for fastener and fixing systems, and with local agents or partners across the Yangtze River Delta and elsewhere within China. The show will attract both trade visitors and end-users, keen to source existing products and also find new fastening and fixing solutions.
The market for fasteners in China has experienced in excess of 10% annual growth in recent years, driven mainly by rapid growth in the production of industrial equipment and automotive vehicles. It has a current estimated value of 55 billion Yuan. Externally threaded fasteners remain dominant in terms of demand, while specialist and custom-made fasteners are growing strongly from a modest base.
China’s economy around the Yangtze River Delta has become the engine of China’s flourishing national economy. The region, which includes the cities of Shanghai, Suzhou, Ningbo, Wuxi, Nanjing, Changzhou, Jinhua, Taizhou and Wenzhou, generates 26% of the country’s GDP, fulfils 37% export volume, attracts 52% foreign investment, and has consistently shown double digit growth per year. The Yangtze River Delta was designated in 2006 as the country’s most significant economic centre in China’s National Development Program, and an important international gateway to the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Next to Shanghai, Suzhou is the second largest industrial city, with the fifth largest GDP in China. With a population of 10 million, it has grown to become a hub of international and domestic investment. It lies just to the west and within easy reach of Shanghai with access to both Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao international airports.
The automotive, general engineering, IT, telecoms, construction and consumer goods markets in China are well-known to offer significant business growth opportunities. Whilst in recent months the global economic slowdown is showing an impact, economists predict a controlled and minor slowdown, revising China’s overall full year growth figures down from 8.6% to 8.0% in 2012 followed by higher growth through 2013. Investment in manufacturing and engineering continues at a very high level, across all end-user sectors for fastener and fixing products.
