AdvertiserConstruction is well underway on the new Smith Fastener Co. Inc. building in South Charleston. The company announced last year that it planned to move its nuts-and-bolts distribution center from the eastern edge of Kanawha City to a lot near the former FMC hydrogen peroxide plant and the fly ash pond in South Charleston. Company president Jim Smith said at the time the company had outgrown its current MacCorkle Ave. site, where it has been since 1971. (…)
