NORMA Group expands in China and starts production in its second
manufacturing site in ChangzhouMaintal, Germany/Changzhou, China, 15 May 2014 – NORMA Group, an
international market and technology leader for engineered joining
technology, has started production in its second manufacturing plant in
China in Changzhou, approximately 200 kilometers outside of Shanghai, this
May. The new facility was set up to meet the greater demand for metal-based
joining solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. In a total construction area
of 8,000 square meters, the new plant will produce about 45 million pieces
of clamps per year for both Western and Asian automotive manufacturers.“The expansion of our presence in China is an important pillar of our
corporate strategy,” says John Stephenson, COO and responsible for the
Asia-Pacific region at NORMA Group. “The new facility provides us with a
capacity footprint for the future. We are well-positioned to serve the
Chinese and Asian markets as they continue to grow and as they implement
tighter emissions regulations.” NORMA Group manufactures joining technology
that helps customers in the automotive industry comply with tighter
emissions standards.The new plant in Changzhou started with the production of worm drive hose
clamps and profile clamps used in exhaust gas systems, charged air
applications or cooling systems. Over the next 12 months, the facility will
have multiple new metal-based product launches supporting both global and
local automotive manufacturers in the Asia region.NORMA Group opened its first manufacturing site in Qingdao in 2008. It was
expanded in 2011 and is now working to its full capacity. In 2013, NORMA
