These new regulations came into being on 1 July 2013 and they will have a major impact on many businesses and individuals working in the construction industry.
The new regulation sees all construction products that are covered by a harmonised European Standard and are placed onto the market after 1 July 2013 requiring to be CE marked and have an accompanying declaration of performance, if the product is intended to be sold within the European Economic Area. OSC ensured that they were ready for the new regulation coming in, replacing the European Construction Products Directive. The new regulation aims to create a unified approach to the technical assessment of construction products across Europe that all manufacturers can aspire to.
