CHENNAIi: A senior executive of Sundaram Fasteners, a TVS group company, who was sacked from the company a month ago was arrested on Sunday for swindling 2.62 crore. The fraud, which was said to have been committed over the 11 years from 2000 to 2011, came to light only a month ago when the company conducted an internal audit, police said.
Police said S Venkatesan (53) of Natesan Nagar in Virugambakkam was in charge of printing stationery in Sundaram Fasteners in 2000. He forged documents and made false entries and swindled the money. He was the cheque-issuing authority, they said. (…)
