The European Commission has appealed the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ruling against the EU concerning antidumping duties applied to certain Chinese iron and steel fasteners, denounced by Beijing, the WTO announced on 25 March. The judgment was eagerly awaited because China is the world’s leading manufacturer of steel screws, bolts and joints and because the European Union is its leading market (€575 million), according to the Association of Chinese Producers of Iron and Steel Fasteners, Jiaxing. …
