A Wisconsin automotive assemblies manufacturer found a unique way to show support for breast cancer awareness.
The company asked National Rivet to build a pink Model 600 electro-mechanical rivet setter.Dubbed “Rosie,” the machine — a medium-duty model that sets steel, semi-tubular rivets up to 3/16” diameter — required National Rivet to use several gallons of pink paint in place of the company’s usual “battleship grey.”
The rush order was unique for National Rivet.
“We’ve custom built thousands of machines since our founding in the 1928, but none of them were pink,” said Bur Zeratsky, Executive Vice President of National Rivet. (…)
