Taipei, Oct. 18, 2012 (CENS)–In a procurement conference hosted by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, on October 16, 2012, considerable procurement contracts were signed between local fastener suppliers and foreign buyers, according to TAITRA.
A total of 41 foreign buyers from different countries of the world, including the big-name Ciser, the largest fastener producer in Latin America, invited by TAITRA and 116 Taiwanese suppliers of fasteners and frozen seafood clustering in Kaohsiung engaged in face-to-face procurement talks, with estimated US$48.58 million of contracts signed on the spot and later.
TAITRA said that fasteners were the most sought-after procurement items among foreign buyers at the conference, partly because Kaohsiung is noted for its high fastener producer density to command an 80% share of fasteners manufactured in Taiwan every year. (…)
