(…) Phil Johnson, vice president and general manager of the ITW Shakeproof Group, which was formed in 2010 to manage ITW’s industrial hardware businesses, said the Waterbury Buckle employees were recently notified the facility will close, but have not yet been given the details of their severance packages.
The employees “haven’t had a meeting with human resources yet, so I’m not at liberty to discuss” the severance packages, he said.
The company said it will retain ownership of the South Main Street building. According to the city assessor’s office, the four-story building is 140,950 square feet and sits on 5.4 acres in an industrial zone. The building was last appraised at $1.7 million. (…)
