Putting a dent on “Make In India” policy, due to the imposition of Minimum Import Price (MIP) on steel and its 173 products by the Ministry of Commerce, India has now started importing finished products from China — the greatest threat to Indian economy.
Due to MIP levied on steel on February 5, the import of steel from China was stopped to an extent. During the last over a month, steel prices in the country were increased up to 15 per cent.
