Taiwan’s fastener export broke historic record in 2011. The export volume increased by 11.14% to 1.42 million tons and the export value grew by 23.61% to 3.97 billion dollars year-on-year. Being affected by the lasting European Debt Crisis, Taiwan’s fastener export to EU dropped to 114,000 tons in Q4, 2011, reduced by 7.3% in compared with the last quarter (2011, Q3: 123,000 tons), and kept reduced to 111,000 tons in Q1, 2012. However, the export value grew by 4.7% and the unit price stood on the high point of 2.803 dollars.
