Although Taiwan’s fastener exports to the U.S. grew thanks to the U.S. economic recovery and rebound of the housing and car markets, the overall fastener exports dropped due to the European debt crisis and the slowdown of Mainland China’s economy. The U.S. became Taiwan’s largest exporting market for fasteners in 2012.
