U.S. fastener exports jumped 9.26% year-on-year to USD 3.3 billion in 2012 while imports rose 10.72% to USD 4.6 billion. U.S. fastener exports to China Mainland reached USD 119 million, down 10.11% compared with the year of 2011. China Mainland was the fourth largest consumer of U.S. fasteners in 2012. U.S. fastener imports from China Mainland totaled USD 1.0 billion, up 10.25% year-on-year. China Mainland was the second largest supplier of fasteners to U.S.
The top five consumers of U.S. fastener exports in 2012 were Canada, Mexico, the UK, China Mainland and France. The top five countries exporting fasteners to U.S. were China Taiwan, China Mainland, Japan, Germany and Canada. (…)
