It has been a busy few weeks.  Spent some time in Chicago attending the Fastener Tech ’13 show.  I do not know the exact number of attendees but I have to think there were several hundred attendees in addition to the many exhibitors.  Even though Fastener Tech is a bi-annual show, I think this is the closest thing we have to a “Fastener Show East” given that the Columbus show is history.  There were attendees from throughout the country and, of course, there were many attendees from Illinois and the surrounding states.  Chicago is just a great fastener town and there are many distributors and manufacturers in the area.  So, it is no real surprise that there would be good attendance.  And Nancy Rich and the MWFA do a great job with the show and the reception.  And the additional resources of having Mike McNulty and the Fastener Tech team promoting the show really make things come together to form a strong partnership and a very good show.  NFDA held a meeting in conjunction with this show so there were many NFDA members in attendance and that is certainly a good thing.
