Another long time fastener company has been sold. Semblex is now owned by South Korea-based Jinhap Company LTD. This, after Semblex had developed a global alliance with Italian multinational firm, the Agrati Group.So, I guess our U.S. auto industry, along with other domestic manufacturing firms, are now going to be buying our domestic parts from a Korean owned company. The background information on Jinhap sounds impressive enough. They are 100% family owned and employ over 1,200 people according to what I read in Global Fastener News. Four manufacturing plants in South Korea and two in China.
The Semblex story is a bit complex to follow but it apparently was owned by the Daniel P. Haerther Charitable Trust following the passing of the company’s founder. (…)
