Fasteners, including screws, nuts and washers, as well as fixing technology, are all C-parts. In industry they represent a very low proportion – an average of 20% – of the total purchasing volume. Sourcing them is all the more complex due to the high number of small orders for low priced items from numerous suppliers. In comparison to the value, the sourcing effort at 80% of the processing cost is very high. (…)
