It has been a quiet few months in the fastener industry. At the end of last year, one could not make a call in the field without talking about the Porteous acquisition. So much speculation about what it would all mean to the industry. This year, there is nothing in the fastener news quite as substantial. More than fastener news, the weather has been the topic of discussion more than anything else. Then today I read where Wurth has acquired Timberline Fasteners. From Global Fastener News, I read the following comment:“We look to that region of the country to be a lever of growth for us as we seek to double Würth Industry of North America in size by 2020.”
Now, Wurth is already pretty large. But, they plan to double by 2020? (…)
